Open Day Success

Members at Gymophobics in Harrogate turned ‘gym instructor’ for the day when the health club opened its doors last week.

The ladies only fitness centre was inundated with visitors for its inaugural Open Day who were given a tour of the exclusive Resisted Tension (RT) programme by existing members and staff.

Trish Connor owner of the King Edwards Drive Gymophobics said: “Our decision to hold an open day came about due to the fact that people find it really hard to believe just how successful our members are in achieving their ideal fitness, weight and inch loss goals. We wanted to show everyone that in just half an hour three times a week ladies can achieve inch loss, weight loss, improved mobility, improved posture, a healthier immune system, and by boosting delivery of oxygen and nutrients to every cell in the body achieve a healthy glow.”

She added: “ The day was a great success. Not only did we achieve record numbers of new members but we also raised a massive £120 (check) for local charity, The Isabella Cook Fund For Life.”

The exclusive Resisted Tension (RT) programme at Gymophobics takes just 30 minutes meaning you can complete an effective workout in just half an hour. You don’t need to train in an intimidating environment, pushing weights or running on treadmills like an athlete, the RT workout makes exercise easy and enjoyable and amazing, confidence boosting results achievable. Most members lose a dress size in the first few weeks and go on to achieve a lean, toned figure, improved mobility and raised self esteem. All this at half the price of many conventional gyms without the need to get changed or shower afterwards – just bring gym shoes.”

Gymophobics in Harrogate is one of over 30 revolutionary Ladies’ health clubs in the UK. Founded by ex Olympic swimmer Donna Hubbard and following years of experimentation, the RT programme works using a 10 station circuit combining cardio-vascular exercise, isotonic, isometric, calisthenics and stretch in one 30 minute session. This unique RT exercise system is the world's first registered and trade marked workout and is only available at Gymophobics.

Harrogate Gym Members ‘Eggsercise’ To Help Local Children

Children at a Harrogate hospital enjoyed an egg-stra special Easter treat last week thanks to a local business woman.

Trish Connor, owner of Gymophobics Ladies’ Health Club on King Edwards Drive, asked her members to donate an Easter Egg for the children at Woodlands Children’s ward at Harrogate Hospital to help put a smile on their faces over the Easter Holidays and she visited the children last week armed with the eggs.

She said; “Being stuck in hospital over the Easter period isn’t much fun, especially for children, so we decided to give them a little treat and brighten up their stay.  Generous members and staff at Gymophobics brought in a staggering total of over 100 chocolate eggs and these were donated to the ward.”

She continued:  “As a local business we are keen to support the communities we serve and it was lovely to see the children’s faces light up when we visited them with the goodies.”

Anne Riach, Play Specialist said: “We were extremely grateful that Gymophobics members and staff made such a generous donation.  I know it made a big difference to the children on our ward.”

The Race for Life, Cancer Research UK

Many of us have very personal reasons for doing it, and all of us have a united kindred spirit to suport all woment who have been touched by the destructive and dreaded disease called cancer.

It was an amazing evening, the weather couldn’t have been better and amidst the hundreds of women and girls who turned out at the Yorkshire Show Ground that evening, was ‘The Gymophobics Team’ who met up in readiness for the 'Race for Life'

There was no stopping us on the night, the run/jog/walk was completely enjoyable and so many lovely people on the sidelines supporting us and urging us on to the final finish line. The atmosphere was fantastic!

We’re all so proud of our ‘Race for Life’ medals but best of all was being able to share in the wonderful spirit of Life, with a feeling that tonight ‘we did good ladies!!!!’

Helping others always makes you feel good and raising money for such a good cause was exhilarating and lots of fun too!

Roll on next year when we hope the ‘Gymophobics Team’ will be even bigger!!!

With our thanks,

Team Gymophobics
