FOUNDERS LETTER
"Thanks for visiting your new Member's web site. I hope that you will find it interesting,
informative and fun. As it is something new you may have ideas of your own on how it can be improved so please feel free to let us know.
We aim to keep your web site right uptodate with all the latest news and gossip from around the gyms so do check in regularly for updates.
As I visit our Gyms around the country I get the chance to meet hundreds of loyal members who all have an interesting story to tell about how they discovered Gymophobics and how it is changing their lives for the better. Some of those stories will be printed on your web site and will help to inspire and motivate you to keep attending regularly.
We also plan to keep you up to date with exercise, diet and health issues and we will be providing you with some delicious recipes that you might want to try. I know that many of you like to exercise on the days when you don’t get down to the Gym so we will also be including ideas for exercising at home or outdoors.
For some reason that is not entirely clear, many of our members love writing poems about Gymophobics and we thought you would like to read some of them. We will be including the best of them on this site so if you are a budding poet, please send in a contribution and we will try to include it!
It doesn’t seem that long since the first Gymophobics opened its doors in 2003 but in that time more than 50,000 women have joined us. Our members come in all shapes and sizes and the age range is amazing. Many members have introduced their teenage daughters. That’s no surprise really as most kids do so little exercise at school these days. Of course with the arrival of Game machines and mobile phones, most teenagers are doing very little exercise when they are not at school either!
Some of our teenage members are as young as twelve and thirteen and then there are some slightly more mature ladies in their seventy’s and eighties with members of every possible age in between. As far as I know, our oldest member is aged ninety three and is as fit as a fiddle. We will be telling you more about her once we have her permission to do so.
We thought that you might also want to know something about some of the lovely people who own and operate our Gyms as Franchisees and their staff. More than three hundred Instructors work for Gymophobics around the country.
Some are full time employees but many are part time, mixing work with running a home and family. Many have interesting stories of their own and in our Staff Profiles section we will be telling you about some of them as time goes by. Many of our Instructors were actually members before they trained as an Instructor and loved the results and the Company so much that they applied to work for us. People like that make great Instructors of course as they know exactly what it feels like to be overweight and out of condition before achieving life changing benefits at Gymophobics. Elsewhere on the web site you can read about the Instructor training our staff go through to make sure that you get the programme and results that you deserve.
In our Member’s Corner we will print your letters so please start sending in your thoughts or we will be staring at an empty page! You may also like to test your knowledge in our Competition section.
In the About Gymophobics section you can find out how Gymophobics came to be invented and why our circuit is so different from other Gyms and other 30 minute workouts.
Finally, we will soon be introducing a range of top quality products which you will be able to purchase on line. I personally am very excited about these and I am sure that many of you will be too.
That’s all from me for now ladies so enjoy your web site and keep your thoughts coming in. I hope to meet up with you on my next visit to your Gym.
Kind regards
Donna Hubbard
PS. Don’t forget to tell your friends about our ‘Lose inches-Gain £1’s’ promotion. Participating Gyms are challenging their first 100 members who enrol in 2010 to lose inches by paying them £1 for every inch that they lose during the year.
