INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR 2009 - PAULA RUSSELL from Banbury
We are delighted to announce the results of Gymophobics 'Instructor of the Year Award 2009'.
The Award was presented at the prestigious Annual Awards night attended by more than 80 Franchisees, staff and friends in the Moat House Hotel in Stafford on January 9th.
There were three nominees for this National Award which goes to the Instructor voted as providing exceptional customer service by members and colleagues at each Gym.
The nominees this year were Jill Jones from Southport, Michelle Woolley from Stockport and Paula Russell from Banbury.
A panel of Judges including Gymophobics Founder Donna Hubbard had the difficult task of choosing a winner based on the submissions from each Gym, but in the end they agreed on a worthy winner.

There were many reasons why the Judges chose Paula for this Award. These included her work record. Paula has never had a 'sick day' since the Gym opened in June 2008 despite being quite poorly at times. When other staff have been off for sickness or holidays, Paula has always been prepared to step in and work a full 12 hour day. Even in the worst of weather, Paula can always be relied on to turn in on time.
Members at Banbury praise Paula's high level of professionalism. She knows virtually every member by name and goes out of her way to call them at home if they have not been in for a while, just to see that they are ok. A concientious collector of information on health and fitness, Paula is constantly bringing in magazine & newspaper articles to benefit members and staff knowledge and motivates and supports her colleagues without even realising it as it is something that comes naturally to her.
Members see Paula as a sympathetic Counsellor who they can turn to with a problem, whether it is personal or Gym related. She treats each member as an individual.
Few could dispute Paula's worthiness to win Instructor of the Year 2009 chosen from more than 300 Instructors throughout the group. Gymophobics congratulate Paula on this achievement.
