Stockport raises £950 for Breast Cancer

November 2010 saw our joint 3rd birthday and christmas party. I. We were delighted to raise £950 towards our chosen charity, Tickled Pink for Breast Cancer.

It was a difficult task to decide what to do this year to celebrate our birthday. The past 2 years we have celebrated at the gym and awarded our ladies individually for their successes, with fantastic inch and weight loss results. This year is somewhat different. For a start, the amount of members that we have now, we simply would not fit you all into the gym. Secondly, all of you are doing so well, how on earth could we possibly pick out a member of the year?

So here is what we decided to do:
During the last 3 years, Michelle, Joanne and I have introduced just over 3,500 ladies of all ages to Gymophobics. During this time, we have seen amazing results. Every lady who we see usually drops a dress size or more very quickly and goes on to achieve much more. An average inch loss of 16 inches per person and 1 stone in weight, if we were to do the maths over 3500 people, that would be a lot of excess body fat that we have managed to reduce in Stockport, so well done to you all.

The more people that we see on a day to day basis, the more we become exposed to the debilitating illnesses that life throws at us. As a team we experience the upset caused by:
-MS
-Arthritic joints
-Osteoporosis
-False limbs and replacements
-Depression
-To name but a few

Everyone we speak to knows of someone or cares for someone who has cancer. As our team of ladies gets bigger i.e. you, so does our exposure to Breast Cancer.

my team and I know of ladies who are going through the early stages of being diagnosed. There are some of you who are in the middle of treatment, some who are going through breast reconstruction and some who are bouncing back and now continuing to lead a normal life once more.

It breaks our heart to hear of such devastation that Breast cancer brings to families and it is difficult to know what to say. It has been a charity close to our hearts and ladies have given generous donations, £950 is a tremendous amount of money to raise. Each lady at Gymophobics Stockport received a Pink Carnation at the birthday party, this was given with our love
